Situated close to the larger island of Ko Tao, Ko Nang Yuan consists of three small islands adjoined by a massive sandbar. The island is famous for its pristine white sand beaches and excellent snorkelling and scuba diving spots. With only one resort, accommodation options are limited, so it is most visited by day trippers coming from the surrounding islands and the mainland. Apart from snorkelling and diving, other activities which can be enjoyed on the island include zip-lining and hiking. Plastic bottles and cans are not allowed on the island and water and other drinks in glass bottles are not available for purchase, effectively meaning that all liquid refreshments must be purchased at the restaurant on the island. There are also no motorised vehicles on the island.
