Geysir Hot Spring Area, situated in Haukadalur Valley in southwest Iceland, is a celebrated geothermal site renowned for its erupting geysers and steaming landscapes. Guests can witness Strokkur geyser shoot boiling water up to 30 metres high every few minutes, stroll among bubbling mud pools and fumaroles, and enjoy guided tours along the Golden Circle. The area also features colourful hot springs and striking geothermal formations, making it a favourite for photography and scientific interest. Known as the birthplace of the word “geyser,” the Great Geysir itself is largely dormant, yet the site remains a protected natural monument of Iceland.
