Pakokku is situated on the Irrawaddy River, in the Magway Region of Myanmar. The town is well known for tobacco trading, cotton weaving, papier mache workshops, and the Thanaka market. Areas of interest include the Shwe Mothtaw Pagoda, Shwe Tant Tit, Phaung Taw Oo Pagoda, and the longest bridge in Myanmar, the Pakokku Bridge.
