Shwezigon Pagoda is located in the town of Nyaung-U near Myanmar's ancient city of Bagan. This Buddhist temple is a good example of the Burmese style of architecture featuring a circular gold plated stupa, ringed by smaller shrines and temples. The coned shaped pagoda is guarded by four large statues and houses several Buddhist relics. It is an important religious site, attracting a large number of pilgrims and tourists alike.
