In full or new moon, the low tide mornings form clear pools on the coral reefs of Algodões, Arandis and Taipus de Fora. Taipus de Fora has the most famous pools of the Peninsula. Depart the pousada in a 4WD passing by the Bromeliads Forest, home to bromeliads with more than 2m diameter. This is a phenomenon that, in Brazil, only occurs in the Maraú Peninsula. Continue to Taipu de Fora beach where, in low tide, natural pools are formed surrounded by reefs and where many fish species are trapped. This is the ideal place to go snorkeling (you can take your own equipment, or there are snorkel, mask and fins for rental at the beach). On the way back to the pousada we recommend a stop for lunch at Lagoa Azul local restaurant (not included).
