The Town Musicians of Bremen is a bronze statue by German artist Gerhard Marcks erected in front of Bremen's City Hall in 1953. The sculpture depicts the popular children's story by the Brothers Grimm, where four musicians, a donkey, a cockerel (rooster), a dog and a cat stand in a pose (with the rooster atop the cat, perched on the dog, on the shoulders of the donkey) to frighten robbers from their home. On Sundays at noon between May and September, the story is enacted to entertain children.
