The El Questro Homestead is an exclusive retreat situated atop the Chamberlain Gorge. Perched atop the Chamberlain Gorge, the Chamberlain Suite offers sublime panoramic views and features a wrap around veranda with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the magnificent sunset and sunrise over the gorge. The veranda boasts a relaxing lounge and dining area. The suite is stylishly decorated with rustic authentic Australian furnishings, is air conditioned and offers a large wardrobe area, a modern bathroom with double shower, as well as an indoor and outdoor private double bath overlooking the Chamberlain Gorge. The three Cliff Side Retreats are situated at the edge of a sheer escarpment, overlooking the spectacular wilderness. Views of the Chamberlain River can be enjoyed from both the daybed and the luxurious feather topped bed that faces floor to ceiling, sliding glass walls. Set apart from the homestead, the freestanding retreats offer privacy and a sense of space.

The walk through wardrobe leads to a modern en suite where the stunning El Questro landscape can be viewed. Chamberlain Gorge Rooms at the El Questro Homestead are perched above the Chamberlain River, featuring a private deck with lounge furniture overlooking the gorge. Boating the Chamberlain Gorge is a must. Only accessible by boat, this 3 km
fresh waterhole is bound by diverse flora and fauna, and belittled by a towering
escarpment. Enjoy bacon and egg muffins, fruit, tea and coffee on the breakfast
cruise or sparkling wine and fresh fruit on the afternoon cruise as you take in
the breathtaking scenery.
Head out on a 4WD fishing adventure with one of our fishing guides to a spot
on the Pentecost River, an hour’s drive from El Questro Station. With a little local
knowledge you can try your hand at catching the “elusive” Barramundi or even a
Mangrove Jack, Threadfin Salmon, Black Bream or Catfish. You don’t need to be an
expert to jump on this tour, your guide can teach you the basics as you go. There is
plenty of wildlife viewing to be had while you are out there, the Estuarine Crocodile
and Sea Eagles are common sightings along the Pentecost River. All fishing gear,
breakfast or lunch, snacks and drinks are provided.
Enjoy a relaxed Barramundi fishing trip to one of our fishing holes in the El
Questro Valley. Travel with our expert guide by 4WD to a local waterhole and
fish for Barramundi from the banks of the Chamberlain or Pentecost river. All
fishing gear and light refreshments provided.
An insight into the pioneering heritage and characters that ran El Questro when it was a working station. Along the journey
learn about Indigenous people’s use of different bush plants, including uses for medicine and remedies, weapons and even fish
poison. This tour includes morning tea enjoyed at a shady waterhole.
A great way to experience El Questro in an afternoon! Hop aboard one of our Safari vehicles to experience this unique 4WD
track, extending along the Chamberlain Gorge as it narrows with its sheer cliffs rising above you. Take a cruise along the river
to experience this spectacular gorge system whilst keeping an eye out for both Estuarine and Johnston Crocodiles and Black
Footed Rock Wallabies. Jump back on board the vehicle and make your way to the top of Branko’s Lookout, just in time for you
to enjoy another Kimberley Sunset whilst sipping sparkling wine or an ice cold beer. This tour has a maximum of 8 guests so you
will be well looked after.
Horse treks are a great way to observe all types of Kimberley wildlife whilst getting off the beaten track. Whether you’re a
first timer on the horse or an advanced rider, our horse guides will take care of you and adjust the ride to your capabilities.
There is a minimum age of 12 years old for horse rides. Kids’ rides are available for those under 12 years old, subject to
availability and experience.
Join an El Questro Ranger on an early morning bird watch. You may just spot a pair of dancing Brolgas or some colourful
Rainbow Bee-eaters, the endangered Gouldian Finch or the Sea Eagles feeding their young. The locations will vary depending on
your guide and the conditions of the day. This tour includes, binoculars, a local species list, bacon & egg muffin and juice.

Our newest and only exclusive lookout. With 360 degree views of the property, you look down on the station township,
up the Chamberlain river and follow the Pentecost out to the Gibb River Road. Whether it’s for a special occasion or just want
to enjoy it without the crowds you will have this lookout for yourselves and a special chance to soak up this intimate sunset,
you will be treated to a cheese platter and beverages to enjoy as you watch another famous Kimberley sunset.
This 5-hour tour requires a ride in our high-clearance 4WD vehicles as you pass through the water crossing on your way to commence the El Questro Gorge Walk. Wrap up the ride at the end of the tour with relaxed views and a dip in Zebedee Spring.
Although there are many ways to experience the diversity of El Questro, few experiences can compare to a helicopter ride over the vast region. Look down over the Cockburn Ranges, through Pentecost Gorge and beyond waterfalls and caves only accessible by air – a truly indescribable experience we strongly recommend to everyone.
This rugged 4-hour trek takes you on a four-wheeling adventure along the Chamberlain River as it narrows and drops into a riverbed beneath towering cliffs. Steer through the river systems in small boats while passing the cliffs, splashed with afternoon sunlight. As the sun sets at Branco’s Lookout, enjoy beverages and a cheese platter – a beautiful end to an adventurous day.
