Located in Baku, the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum's mission is to store, research, and demonstrate unique examples of the carpet weaving art which is Azerbaijan’s national heritage. The museum's first permanent exhibition was presented on 26 April 1972 and today it houses an extensive collection featuring flat-woven carpets, pile carpets, carpet products, fabrics, costumes, ceramics, and jewellery. The museum also offers a variety of educational programs and a shop selling carpets.
