Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, on the northeastern shore of Dal Lake. Visitors can walk along well-kept pathways, admire flowing fountains and water channels, take photographs, relax beneath chinar trees, and occasionally see peacocks moving around the gardens. The garden was built in 1619 by Emperor Jahangir and later expanded. It is noted for its formal design based on Persian garden principles, with multiple terraces, structured water features, and historical links to the Mughal royal life, reflecting its lasting cultural and architectural importance.
