Approximately 70 km East of Cape Town, Franschhoek, (French Corner) is one of the oldest towns in the Republic of South Arica. Originally settled in 1688 by French Huguenots is reflected in the names of most of the vineyards and roads in the area. Vines grow exceptionally well and the quality of the wines is testament to the years of tradition invested in the farms. With good wine goes good food and Franschhoek boasts some of the finest restaurants in the country. One such example is the Tasting Room which regularly features in the San Pellegrino World's Top 50 Restaurants list.

Riding in Franschhoek is less about the single track and more about the scenery. Make no mistake, surrounded by mountains there is plenty of up but once there the cameras will snap away at the stunning views. Overall the riding will be more relaxed and the rewards in terms of accommodation and fine dining will make you feel replete.
