The Strand Hotel Swakopmund is located directly on the mole (promenade) in Swakopmund, surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean, with direct access to the main beach in town.
On the fourth side it faces to the town’s beautiful central park, through which it is a short five minute walk to the historic centre of this charming, German, Victorian era colonial seaside town, with all its shops, cafés, restaurants and bars.
With its extensive, unique and creatively entertaining restaurants, bars, deli, lobby-lounge, sea facing terraces and shops, set on this historic and iconic site, this hotel is a destination unto itself for both visitors and locals alike.
Its architectural inspiration finds its roots deep in Namibian German colonial history and reflects this in a tasteful contemporary manner. The interiors are residential in nature, and the brief to all designers involved was to create a non-hotel. One as charming and welcoming as the town it is in. Simply very warm and comfortable, and as they say in German: “gemütlich” with a genuine “sense-of-place”

Panoramic and sliding windows with views of the beach (55 rooms) or gardens (17 rooms). Each has an en-suite bathroom with shower, single vanity and separate toilet. All Standard Rooms are designed to accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child in a cot.

Situated in some of the best view locations within the Hotel these rooms offer floor-to-ceiling panoramic and sliding doors with “step-out” Romeo & Juliet balconies. The bathrooms, with showers and separate toilets feature double his and her vanities. Available as an extra-length soft-top King-bed or Twin-bed configuration, writing desks or dining/working tables, couch and two easy lounging armchairs with reading light. All Luxury Rooms are designed to accommodate families of a maximum two adults and one child up to 10 years. Sea-Facing Luxury Rooms can accommodate two adults and two children under 10 years. For children above 10 years, the inter-leading rooms are recommended.
Suites offer sliding door with "sit-on" balcony and sea view. Open-plan lounge and bedroom. Suites have bathroom with shower, bath separate toilet and feature double vanities. Junior Suites accommodate of maximum 2 adults and 2 children up to 10.
