The Mahagandhayon Monastery is situated in Amarapura, Myanmar. It is the country's most famous monastic college and is known for it's strict loyalty to the Vinaya. The monastery was established by Agatithuka Sayadaw around 1908 as a meditation monastery for forest-dwelling monks.
