Lion’s Head is the most accessible part of Table Mountain and is a very popular before and after work climb. The hike to the summit takes about an hour, and you get different views of the city and the Atlantic shoreline as the track spirals up the mountain. For those with a sense of occasion, a little picnic doesn’t go amiss. If you’re lucky enough to be in Cape Town during full moon, join the throng going up for the moon rise. Lion’s Head is also where paragliders launch into the air before slowly descending on Camps Bay Beach.
