The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), also known as the Giza Museum, is an impressive archaeological museum located in Giza, Egypt, near the famous Giza pyramid complex. It is set to be the world’s largest archaeological museum, covering 81,000 square metres of floor space. The museum will house over 100,000 artefacts from ancient Egyptian civilization, including the complete Tutankhamun collection. Many of these artefacts are displayed to the public for the first time. The design of the museum was chosen through an international architectural competition and features a modern, chamfered triangular shape. The museum aims to be a centre for cultural and educational activities, offering various exhibitions, a children’s museum, and advanced technological displays.
