Slightly upstream from parent camp Tafika, Chikoko Trails is compromised of two camps: Chikoko Tree Camp and Big Lagoon camp (previously known as Crocodile River Camp). Both camps are only accessible by foot so guests experience true freedom of a walking wilderness free of roads, vehicles, other camps and relentless wifi!
The camps are set in beautiful more remote wilderness areas with fantastic wildlife densities. This is the only place where guests may experience walking safaris in a walking-only area.
Chikoko Tree Camp comprises three tree-house style chalets. There are two twin 3/4 chalets and one double chalet which are built with the bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs. The bedroom is open to views of the trees and the plains beyond. The bathroom has an outdoor safari shower open to the stars and a private changing area.
Big Lagoon Camp comprises three chalets perched on the edge of the vast and picturesque big lagoon. There are two twin double chalets and one king chalet which have ensuite bathrooms and outdoor showers.

The Chikoko Trails Camps offer guests a great walking safari. On foot guests are given the rare opportunity to become part of nature, to immerse themselves in the wonders that present themselves at every turn. Whether it's a short morning or afternoon walk, a longer walking safari along the ancient and well-worn elephant and hippo trails, a journey into the remote North Luangwa National Park or a combination of all of the above, those on walking safaris are always accompanied by an experienced guide, an armed National Park scout and a tea bearer.
Children under the age of 12 are unfortunately not able to take part in walking safaris at Remote Africa Safaris.
