Thanda Safari Lodge is situated in the rich wildlife area of South Africa’s northern KwaZulu Natal and is one of Africa’s most luxurious safari destinations. The accommodation comprises nine self-contained suites, each with a lavish living space, heated plunge pool and outside ‘sala’ or resting area overlooking the reserve. Guests can enjoy delicious meals in the central dining and gathering area, which includes an inviting lounge, expansive deck and library overlooking a waterhole, private business area, cigar bar and impressive wine cellar. Other facilities include an inviting spa where guests can relax and unwind. Guests can also enjoy safari games drives and guided bush walks.

Zulu guide and a 4x4 safari vehicle for transfers to the local Zulu village. Hosted by the Community Liaison Officer. A contribution towards the Thanda Safari Community Projects is allocated in the per person rate. Available between morning and evening game drives
This activity is hosted by a member of the Wildlife Conservation Team. A contribution towards the Thanda Safari Conservation Projects is allocated in the per person rate. Available at any time of the day and can fit between morning and evening game drives. Activities vary according to what the Conservation Team are working on during your stay.
This activity is hosted by a member of the Rhino Monitoring Team. A contribution towards Thanda’s Rhino Monitoring is allocated in the per person rate. Starting before sunrise, guests will help the team to track and identify the rhinos and learn all about their ecology, the threats to their species, their behaviour, their feeding patterns and much more.
Depart Thanda Safari for a 1½-hour drive to the St. Lucia Estuary followed by a 2-hour cruise to view numerous birds and wildlife, including hippos and crocs.
