Situated at the Samsitu Lake within the traditional village of the Kavango, The Living Museum of the Mbunza is a traditional school for culture and a communal business for the local people. The living museum provides an insight into the traditional, pre-colonial culture. An essential part of the interactive program of the Living Museum is a demonstration of the fishing and land cultivating culture of the Mbunza. The traditional presentation covers everything from everyday life, like cooking traditional cuisine, fire making, basket and mat weaving, to bushwalk specialised techniques like blacksmithing, pottery and the making of drums.
