Queenstown is the location of the 'World Home of Bungy Jumping', The Kawarau Bridge Bungy. In November 1988, Bungy pioneers AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch launched the world's first commercially operated Bungy Jumping Site, off the historic Kawarau Bridge. With over 26 years of operating experience it has become renowned as an exhilarating thing to do in Queenstown. If visitors want to be tied up and thrown off with a friend, there is also tandem bungy jumping, or try New Zealand’s highest bungy, The Nevis Bungy.
