Kitano Tenmangū is a shrine which was built over a 1000 years ago in Kyoto, Japan. It was built in honour of Sugawara no Michizane, as well as for the peace of the nation. At the entrance, visitors can see the Ro-mon Gate and Sanko-mon Gate which have golden decorations, finely-detailed sculpting and vivid colours. The shrine can be viewed behind the worship hall. Visitors can also take a stroll through the market on the premises which sells food, second-hand clothes and tools.
