Accommodating a group of up to six adults on an exclusive-use basis, the near-by Fitzpatrick’s Villa is stylishly appointed to offer the ultimate private villa experience in the heart of the Kruger. While the dining and entertainment area offers both alfresco and indoor dining facilities allowing guests the unique opportunity to experience the gracious style of old world elegance surrounded by unspoilt wilderness.

Room Configuration
Accommodating small groups, multigenerational groups and families on an exclusive-use basis, Fitzpatrick’s Villa is elegantly appointed to offer the ultimate private safari experience in the heart of the Kruger National Park. The villa features its own dedicated staff complement, private ranger, and exclusive game-viewing vehicle. Following several months of closure, Fitzpatrick’s reopened in September 2025 after an extensive refurbishment that has revitalised the lodge and further elevated its standing within the market.
Fitzpatrick’s at Jock comprises three bedrooms designed for exclusive use. Rooms Two and Three are interconnected via a shared foyer and deck area, featuring a private plunge pool and outdoor sala. Room One stands independently, also complete with its own plunge pool and sala. Each suite accommodates a maximum of two adults, with the villa rate inclusive for up to six guests. Additionally, two suites can accommodate extra beds for up to four younger travellers, allowing for a maximum occupancy of six adults and four children.
Children aged five years and younger stay on a complimentary basis, while those aged six to eleven are charged 50% of the Main Jock adult sharing rate per night.

Morning and evening drives are performed in covered 4x4 Game Viewers conducted by highly experienced Rangers.
Game drives in an exclusive concession offers an adventure like no other- raw, thrilling, and unforgettable. Your ranger expertly tracks fresh prints in the sand, leading you closer to the Big Five and the countless other wonders that define this untamed landscape. Each drive is an immersion into the rhythm of the wilderness, where every turn could reveal a lion on the hunt, an elephant herd at the river, or a leopard draped across an ancient tree. At Jock every game drive is a front-row seat to nature’s greatest show, uncrowded and exhilarating.
At dusk, a vantage point is chosen overlooking one of the many breathtaking vistas of the Kruger National Park. Sundowners are enjoyed while tales of the bush are told and a glimpse of what this unique wilderness has to offer is seen while being entranced by the ever changing colours of the sky as the sun slips into the timeslot of tomorrow. En route back to the lodge, nocturnal animals such as leopard, hyena and lion are often seen.
Walking in the Kruger is an experience that awakens every sense. On foot, the wilderness reveals its secrets- the scent of wild sage, the texture of ancient trees, the quiet rhythm of life often missed from a vehicle. Guided by expert Rangers, each step tells a story: a fresh track in the sand, a bird’s alarm call, the rustle of unseen movement in the grass. It’s raw, humbling, and deeply insightful, offering a rare connection to nature that reminds you what it means to truly be part of the wild.
For the avid birdwatcher, abundant species of bird are regularly seen on the concession including raptors such as the Martial, Tawny and Fish Eagles as well as Steppe Buzzards.
A wide variety of Bushveld Birds are spotted from the comfort of ones room or whilst lying next to the pool. Most commonly seen are Hornbills, Starlings, Boubou’s, Shrikes and Woodpeckers to name but a few.
The tranquil atmosphere at the Lodge allows for unique birding opportunities as man slows down, finding the rhythm of nature and begins to truly observe.
Beneath the vast African sky, the Kruger National Park offers one of the most spectacular stargazing experiences on Earth. Far from city lights, the night unfolds in breathtaking clarity, the Milky Way stretching like a silver river across the heavens, constellations telling ancient stories, and the distant call of the wild echoing through the stillness. Here, every star feels closer, every moment more timeless - a reminder of just how small we are in the grand beauty of the wilderness.
Pilgrim’s Rest, named after the quaint historical mining town featured so prominently in “Jock of the Bushveld” and still in existence today, was a place to rest, rejuvenate and restock. So too is the Relaxation Retreat at Jock Safari Lodge.

Jackalberry trees older than written history are pointed out and the myriad of insects, birds, mammals and reptiles that exist in this leafy ecosystem are explained. The sheer wonder of Mother Nature at work in this microcosm makes one eager to experience and understand more and to experience untouched Paradise in its pure form.
The Amarula tree, so very African, can be seen overflowing with baboons plundering the juicy fruit while keeping a wary eye out for the leopard that abound in the Jock concession. Taste the Sour Plum and sense a taste explosion or spot the various plants with medicinal values ranging from stomach cures, cures for hangovers or even a bush Viagra!!
The vast expanse of this wild land slows one down and with this inner peace comes an ability to really incite the senses.

Fitzpatrick’s at Jock is a 3 room stand-alone lodge offering families personal service in an intimate atmosphere. Upon arrival the host and/or ranger will discuss activity options with the family taking the family’s size, children’s ages and the weather into consideration. Child minding is available at an additional cost. Each child will receive a gift pack containing small gifts, most of which they can use during their stay at Fitzpatrick’s at Jock.
