Kicker Rock, also known as León Dormido, is a striking volcanic formation off San Cristóbal Island in the Galápagos, renowned as one of the archipelago’s premier snorkelling sites. Visitors can swim through its channel to observe hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, rays, and schools of tropical fish. Notably, the towering cliffs host blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and frigatebirds, while the rock itself rises nearly 153 metres above the ocean, shaped by millennia of erosion into its iconic sleeping lion.
