Qoricancha, also spelled Coricancha or Koricancha, is a former Inca temple complex located in the city of Cusco, Peru. It was dedicated to Inti, the sun god, and was considered the most sacred and important site in the Inca Empire. The temple was adorned with gold and silver, and its walls were covered with precious metal plates. The complex also had shrines for the moon, the stars, the thunder, and the creator god Viracocha. Travellers who visit Qorikancha can admire the impressive architecture and stonework of the Inca, as well as the colonial church of Santo Domingo that was built on top of the temple after the Spanish conquest.
