The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Athens) is placed in Syntagma Square in Athens. The cenotaph is dedicated to the Greek soldiers who were killed during the war. The memorial was sculpted by Fokion Rok between 1930 and 1932. The Tomb comprises French urban and classical tradition while combining Art Deco with symbolic references to Ancient Greece. The representation of the dead warrior sculpture gives the impression that the Unkown Soldier is ready to arise at any moment.
