Located in Prague, Strahov Monastery dates back to 1143 when it was founded by Jindřich Zdík, Bishop John of Prague, and Vladislaus II, Duke of Bohemia. The monastery is a Premonstratensian abbey and houses the Strahov Library with its medieval manuscripts and maps. The Baroque Theological Hall and the Classical Philosophy Hall are decorated with beautiful elaborate frescoes. Visitors can also view Gothic and Baroque paintings and Rudolfian art at the Stahove Gallery.
