From its location on the western side of remote Hunda Island, Tubu Tree has easy access to a diverse range of habitats. Day and night game drives explore productive mopane and acacia woodlands, with Tubu Tree being well known for its leopard sightings. Wildlife movements vary with seasonal water levels, meaning that no two Tubu experiences are ever the same – but all are equally wonderful.
Eight guest tents (including one designed for families) offer breathtaking floodplain views from their elevated positions. In addition to the drama and excitement of game drives, seasonally-available water activities facilitate a different pace and perspective.
INSIDER'S TIP: At night a raised deck nearby is transformed into a Star Bed, creating a wondrous sleep-out in the wild under a blanket of stars.
Views abound from each elevated tent. Built in traditional safari style, the tents each have their own en-suite bathroom facilities, an outdoor shower, as well as a panels replacing some canvas walls and a private viewing deck overlooking the surrounding open, grassy floodplains that teem with iconic African wildlife.
Elevated walkways link the tents to the main dining, bar and pool areas that are designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment, and to maximise the spectacular views. The perfect setting for a relaxing sundowner.
Tucked away into a tree canopy, the spacious and light family unit has two adjoining tents with separate bathrooms and a shared lounge with saligna hardwood flooring, plus a deck offering cinematic views across the Delta.
