The Seisonkaku Villa is one of the most elegant remaining samurai villas in Kanazawa, Japan.
It was built in 1863 as a retirement home for the mother of Maeda Nariyasu, the 13th daimyo of the Kaga Clan.
Today, it is open for public viewing and features a collection of her personal belongings. The villa features 2 floors, with many expansive tatami rooms.
It also boasts a beautiful garden, and an interesting roof that covers the garden viewing deck, which was built without supports so the view of the garden would not be obstructed.
