Located in Tokyo, the Hachikō Memorial Statue is a tribute to Hachikō, one of Japan’s most celebrated dogs. Hachikō was a purebred Akita dog adopted by Hidesaburo Ueno, an agricultural professor at Tokyo University. They had a daily routine where Hachikō would accompany Ueno to Shibuya Station and wait for his return. Unfortunately, Ueno passed away at work, but Hachikō continued to wait for him at the station every day for 10 years. Whether a dog lover or a fan of touching stories, the Hachikō Memorial Statue is a must-visit in Tokyo.
