The Takayama Showa Museum is an interesting little museum which recreates life in Japan during the 1950's.
The streets of 1950 are reconstructed inside the museum with the lifestyle and culture of that time period nostalgically recreated.
At the entrance, there is a penny candy store selling everyone’s favourite candy from a time gone by.
Continuing on, there is Midget Alley, a barbershop, a photo studio and a general store.
Many forgotten items are on display, and visitors can see and feel the days from yesteryear. Although it may be of more interest to Japanese, this little museum is certainly worth a visit.
It's around 800 Yen to get in and is 15 minutes walk from the station.
