Arashiyama Monkey Park Iwatayama is located right near the riverbank of Katsura River, Kyoto.

This unique park provides guests with the chance to feed wild Japanese macaque monkeys of which there is a troupe of around 120.

The monkeys are left to roam free thus creating a unique experience for visitors.

Getting There: Hike up from Arashiyama.

Admission Fee: is 550 Yen per person.

Opening Hours: 6 am to 6 pm.

Importance Rating: 5 - it's nice as an add on to Arashiyama if you feel like a hike, like a view and want to see monkeys!

Busyness Rating: 5 - it can get busy but the walk means a lot of people don't make it up here.

Top Tips: It's an easy enough 20-minute hike up so be ready for a bit of a walk. In the hot and humid summer you might not feel like it. There are vending machines selling drinks.
