Nagamachi District is a well maintained historic neighbourhood in the city of Kanazawa.
Once a famous residential area to samurais of the city, the area features the charming Onosho canals, cobbled streets, and narrow winding lanes.
Some of the important buildings in the area include the Nomura Samurai house, the Ashigaru Shiryokan residence and the Kyu-Kaga Hanshi Takada family house.
These buildings, as well as the Nagamachi Yuzenkan silk-dyeing workshop and the beautiful Kanazawa Shinise Kinenkan museum, are open to tourists, offering them an insight on how these soldiers lived their lives.
