Mount Nebo is an elevated ridge located northwest of Madaba, in Jordan. It is approximately 817 meters above sea level, situated opposite the northern end of the Dead Sea. Mount Nebo is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land and has long been a place of Christian pilgrimage.

Whilst the area is held in high regard by Christians, it is also an important and much-admired destination for people of all faiths as visitors can take in the breathtaking panoramic vistas of the valleys below. Other than the view, visitors can also admire the Brazen Serpent Monument at the summit of the mountain, as well as the excavation with 4th-century, remains and the Memorial Church of Moses. Some other notable points of interest include the 1400-year-old mosaic flooring as well as a beautiful 4th-century mosaic cross that currently sits on the altar of the modern church.
