The Sumida District is a special ward of Tokyo where the modern and the traditional exist peacefully alongside each other. High-rise apartments stand beside old-fashioned wooden adobes while the Tokyo Skytree, the tallest tower in Japan, casts its shadow over traditional bathhouses. The area has plenty of attractions, including Ryogoku the heart of Sumo Wrestling, the Sumida Aquarium, the Tokyo Solamachi shopping and entertainment complex located underneath the Tokyo Skytree, the Mukojima Hyakkaen Gardens and the Edo Tokyo Museum.
