Every Thursday morning there is an impressive indigenous market held in the town of Saquisili. It is a bustling weekly market in the Cotopaxi Province. Vendors from all over the highlands come to the market to sell their wares and show off the product of their labors. The colorful blend of textiles, heaping piles of produce, and local people in traditional Andean clothing with black fedoras is a sight to behold. The local Indian attire consists of small black hats and red poncho garments. If you go early, passing by the animal market is a must!
