Lake Wakatipu is a glacial lake in the Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island, near Queenstown. Visitors can enjoy activities such as scenic boat cruises, kayaking, and paddleboarding while taking in the surrounding mountain views. The lake stretches about 80 kilometres, making it the country’s longest. It is also known for a natural oscillation called a seiche, where the water level rises and falls regularly, creating a noticeable movement along the shoreline.
