Kala Camp is a small, stylish tented lodge set in the Jedibe Concession of the northern Okavango Delta, overlooking year-round waterways, palm islands, and floodplains. Its location in the permanent swamps makes it a haven of tranquillity and one of the few camps that can offer an authentic water-based safari experience throughout the year. The camp has just seven Meru-style tents raised on wooden platforms, each with an en-suite bathroom, extra-length beds, mosquito nets, and a shaded veranda with views over the Delta. The central area has a lounge and dining tent, a boma for fireside evenings, a plunge pool, shaded decks for relaxing, and hybrid solar power ensuring comfort in this remote setting.

Activities here revolve around the water, with mokoro excursions, boat trips, and guided island walks offered almost year-round, while seasonal fishing is also available. Game drives are possible when water levels recede, though this is not the primary focus. Birdlife is superb, and the slower pace of exploration allows guests to connect deeply with the Delta environment.

Guests enjoy the camp’s peaceful and intimate atmosphere, the warm and knowledgeable guiding, and the chance to experience the Okavango from the water rather than only from a vehicle. The rustic-chic style, comfort of the tents, and the beautiful natural setting also receive high praise. Big-game viewing is less concentrated than in other parts of the Delta, and activities can vary with the seasons, but for those seeking immersion in the quiet beauty of the waterways, Kala Camp is considered a gem.

Rates at Kala Camp include accommodation, all meals, local drinks, daily activities such as mokoro excursions, boat trips, guided walks and seasonal game drives, as well as laundry, park fees and VAT. Premium imported drinks, gratuities, and transfers are excluded.
