The Textile Museum was established in May 2001 in Thimphu, Bhutan, under the royal patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Gyalyum Sangay Choden Wangchuck. The museum focuses on Bhutanese textile heritage, with permanent collections, rotating exhibitions, and conservation programmes. It works with the Royal Textile Academy and the Department of Culture, and organises events such as the National Design Competition. Virtual exhibitions present themes including royal robes, religion, regions, warp and weft, and ornaments.
