Stirling Castle is one of the most important castles in Scotland, both architecturally and historically. Leading up to the castle, there are buildings that are also well worth a visit. The castle offers guided tours where the guides share stories and fascinating facts with visitors, it includes a visit to the kitchen to see what life was like for the men, women, and children who prepared the feasts for kings and queens, and baked the daily bread for servants. Tours of the Queen Anne Gardens and the 17th-century Argyll's Lodging are included in the ticket price and normally take place on the hour between 10 am and 5 pm. The on-site Unicorn Cafe provides snacks, meals, and drinks, and there is a local gift shop for buying souvenirs.
