Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, is the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, and glacier-fed waters. Visitors can enjoy hiking, paddling, boat tours to Spirit Island, cross-country skiing in winter, and exploring backcountry trails and campsites in the Maligne Valley. Stretching about 22 kilometres, the lake has cultural significance with origins linked to Indigenous communities, was rediscovered in 1907 by Mary Schaeffer, and features Spirit Island, accessible only by boat and regarded as one of the most recognised scenes in the region.
