De Denne is a working farm, where you get first-hand insight into Ostrich breeding in South Africa and interact with these beautiful giants. The tour is led by a guide who has keen insight into the animal's behaviour, their physiology and offers information on how they contribute to local arts, crafts and industry. Ostriches are particularly valuable because they provide lean and tasty meat; feathers that can be used for clothing, dusters and ornaments; eggs that can be eaten or decorated; and exquisite leather that is perfect for bags, shoes, wallets, and furniture.
