The Featherbed Private Nature Reserve Eco-Experience is a great way to explore this beautiful reserve on an organised and guided adventure. A delicious buffet meal is served at the Forest Restaurant as part of the tour (there is also an option excluding lunch).

After a 25 minutes ferry trip, guests board a 4x4 drawn trailer and drive up to the top of the reserve. While stopping at a scenic lookout point, specialist guides will share some fascinating tales and information about Knysna and the surrounding area while guests enjoy the panoramic surroundings. Guests can enjoy an optional 2,2km (1.3 mile) guided nature walk downward through coastal forest and fynbos into the Khoi-Khoi sea caves and then onto the Forest Restaurant.

This unique outdoor restaurant situated under Milkwood Trees is where guests can enjoy a spectacular buffet. After lunch the ferry returns to the terminus. The Featherbed Experience is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, and regarded as one of the Garden Route's premier tourist attractions. Guests are advised to bring along comfortable walking shoes, a camera, hats in summer and a warm jacket for the ferry trips.
