Chobe Savanna Lodge is situated in the Eastern Zambezi Region, along the northern bank of the Chobe River, which serves as a natural border between Namibia and Botswana. The lodge is wrapped in wetland and grassland terrain, and overlooks sweeping floodplains, Chobe National Park’s iconic Puku Flats, and riverine forests in the distance. This is a setting with defining character, and an experience brought to life by Desert & Delta Safaris.
The lodge has 13 safari chalets total, two of which can be booked as an interleading safari chalet for guests travelling with family or company (2 connected safari chalets with two separate entrances). All, including the interleading safari option, are en suite, have private viewing decks, and can be configured as twin or double.
The safari chalets are slightly raised on wooden platforms, and the new glass-fronted design invites guests to step out onto the private viewing deck to enjoy the setting and vistas. Both the structure and design foster an indoor-outdoor experience that feels equally connected to the elements and cradled in comfort.
Each en suite bathroom includes an indoor shower, single vanity, and tall windows that draw in natural light. The chalets are generously spaced and thoughtfully refurbished, ensuring absolute privacy that honours and respects the environment, and provides a peaceful haven for guests.
Natural textures and tones of the region are woven throughout, grounding each space in its setting. Thoughtful touches—from a beautiful writing desk to quiet corners for rest—enhance the experience, while practical comforts such as a ceiling fan and air-conditioning, mosquito net, and eco-friendly toiletries allow guests to fully relax and settle into the rhythm of the bush.

Explore the Chobe River by motorboat in hard-bottom aluminium vessels, offering an immersive, water-level perspective of big game, including elephants and hippos, African icons, such as giraffes, rich birdlife, aquatic antelope and water-dwellers, such as crocodiles.
Slower-paced skimmer boat brunch or sunset cruises invite guests to dine on the river while wildlife and scenery drift past.
Guided catch-and-release fishing, with tigerfish and catfish (seasonal) and bream among the prized catches. Basic yet sufficient fishing equipment is provided, though guests are welcome to bring their own. Please note that fishing is not permitted between January and February annually.
By boat, on foot or from the lodge itself, and with both resident and migratory species in abundance, birding is exceptional. African skimmers swoop and dive in an elegant dance above the water, African fish eagles keep watch from tall branches, and feathered flocks and solo fliers alike consistently command the treetops, skies, and water’s edge.
Can be arranged on request at the time of booking, offering an authentic insight into daily life and local traditions.
The main areas include various lounge pockets and covered and open-air dining options. Dining celebrates our heart for sharing and is communal, though private dining is inclusive and available on request for all guests. From quiet corners to the extended breakfast deck, facilities are designed to enhance every moment and keep guests close to the environment. The main area is complete with a fully stocked bar, buffet and coffee station, and the swimming pool and boma area, which await on the ground level, and are accessible from the main area and walkways linked to/from the safari chalets. Boat skimmer dining experiences are also available, for a unique mealtime adventure on the water.
