Laguna Cañapa, located in the Potosí Department of south‑western Bolivia on the Altiplano, is a saltwater lagoon near Hedionda Lagoon covering about 1.42 square kilometres, much of which consists of salt crusts, and is known for Andean flamingos. Visitors can walk along the shoreline, observe birdlife, including flamingos and other species, and photograph the surrounding mountains reflected in the water. At an elevation of 4,140 metres above sea level, it is among the highest salt lakes in the world.
