Located the department of Oruro in the Altiplano of Bolivia, Alcaya Archaeological Site is an important pre-Columbian citadel that was declared a departmental heritage of Oruro in 2016. The site features mummies, circular houses made from stone, agricultural ledges, and a unique underground cemetery, as well as beautiful ceramic pieces, baskets, and pre-Columbian tapestries. Visitors to the site can enjoy guided tours.
