Surrounded by a lake and scenic mountain ranges, Tiwanaku is a UNESCO Site located a few kilometres from the town of La Paz in Bolivia. This archaeological site boasts one of the most significant ancient civilization in history. Their economic, cultural and political influence is evident in the surrounding regions, including Peru, Argentina, and Bolivia. The site features three temples, a large underground square arena, the stunning sun gate, sculptures as well as an on-site museum with displays of remains from excavations. Visitors are offered guided tours of the ruins.
