Battery Point is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, located just south of the central business district. It was named after a battery of guns installed in 1818 as part of coastal defences. The site later became Princes Park, where tunnels from the original battery were uncovered. The area features historic houses from early European settlement, including Arthur Circus. Battery Point connects to Salamanca via Kelly’s Steps and is known for its heritage architecture and longstanding residential character.
