Planet Baobab's game drives take visitors deep into the Ntwetwe Pan, the larger of the two Makgadikgadi Pans. Participants can observe a vast expanse of sparkling salt that stretches as far as the eye can see - and then some! Amazingly, there is life here and game drives can reveal some of the unique desert species such as bat-eared foxes, springbok, kori bustards and perhaps even the magnificent desert-adapted elephants and lions. With the onset of summer rains in December, the continent's second largest mammal migration begins, the arrival of zebra and wildebeest, and life becomes hectic as the ungulates feed on the fresh green grass - and the predators have plenty to eat.
