We are often asked what gratuity is appropriate to leave to Guides, drivers and staff. Of course, the quality of service should determine the extent of any gratuity. As a recommendation, if the service received has been excellent, the suggested tipping guidelines are:

Guides, Drivers & Hotel Porters:

For transfers or half-day tours

| Guide, US$ 8 to US$ 10 per guest

| Driver, US$ 5 to US$ 8 per guest

For full-day or overnight tours

| Guide, US$ 15 to US$ 20 per guest per day

| Driver, US$ 10 to US$ 15 per guest per day

| Hotel´s Porters US$ 1 -US$ 2 per guest per day

For Expeditions in the Amazon, Cloud forest or Haciendas

| Local Guides, US$ 15 to US$ 20 per guest per day

| Naturalist Guides, US$ 15 to US$ 20 per guest per day

| Canoe Paddler, US$ 5 to US$ 8 per guest per day

| Staff Members (host, barman, housekeeping), US$ 5 per guest per day
