Etosha King Nehale has been designed and decorated to pay homage to the cultural heritage of the area and the majestic riches of the Etosha animal kingdom. Guests of this Gondwana lodge are immediately captivated by the fascinating atmosphere and warm cordiality that arises from the great attention to detail, whether in the interior design, the choice of food and other details.
The Lodge is situated on the Andoni Plains, one kilometre from Etosha’s northern King Nehale Gate and only 48 kilometres north of Namutoni. At this welcoming lodge each of the 40 spacious chalets has its own plunge pool and views over the plains.
Etosha King Nehale has private access to a remote waterhole in Etosha National Park where the lodge has established its Ontalelo Outpost. The name says it all: ontalelo meaning “view, sight”, “outpost” describes a remote part of a kingdom or empire. Guests can enjoy the fascinating experience of being close to the wonders of Etosha’s animal kingdom.
To the north, the pulsating cultural vibrancy of the communal areas of the Oshikoto, Oshana, Ohangwena and Omusati regions awaits visitors.

Embark on a self-drive safari into Etosha National Park from the King Nehale Gate, the northern entrance to this iconic wildlife reserve. This route provides direct access to the park’s northern and central regions, allowing you to explore at your own pace and experience Namibia’s extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.
Your journey can include visits to the park’s main rest camps: Namutoni Camp in the northeast, Halali Camp centrally located, and Okaukuejo Camp in the west. Along the way, drive through vast salt pans, open savannahs, and around busy waterholes where elephants, giraffes, lions, springboks, and a variety of other wildlife congregate. Birdlife is also abundant, offering excellent opportunities for photography and observation.
Well-marked roads make navigation straightforward, and each camp provides facilities for rest, refreshments, and short breaks. A self-drive safari allows you the flexibility to linger at wildlife hotspots, take photographs, and enjoy the scenery on your own schedule.
