Located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and bordering the southern Serengeti, the Ndutu Region encompasses 8,000 square kilometres of diverse terrain. Its alkaline Lake Ndutu, encircled by short grass plains and acacia woodlands, transforms into a hub of wildlife activity during the rainy season, from December to March. This period heralds the calving season for wildebeest and zebras, drawing vast herds seeking sustenance from seasonal rains. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas capitalise on the abundance of prey, creating thrilling spectacles for visitors. Beyond its role in the Great Migration, the area supports varied wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and six big cat species, making it a prime destination for safari enthusiasts.
