Located in the Simalaha Wildlife Conservancy of Western Zambia, a stay at Zambian Horseback Safaris allows riders the opportunity to experience a timeless place on horseback; to explore ancient lands, trees, the Zambezi River and enjoy a privileged encounter with the Lozi people of the Simalaha.
We are privileged to be the sole operator in approximately 520,000 km² of prime Zambian wilderness.
Intermediate to Experienced Riders - We offer a 3 night safari or longer for intermediate riders and above.
Novice to Intermediate Riders - We will accommodate riders of all abilities if a group books out the camp on an exclusive-use basis.
For our riding safari, you need to be fit, confident & competent.
Vast open spaces, starlit skies and the sing-song of nature at dawn - our camp offers a safe wilderness experiences with breath-taking views over the Simalaha Plains.
Our horse riding safari camp accommodates a maximum of 8 people in four tents. Each tent is raised above the ground with views over the endless grassy plains. Our tents all feature ensuite open air bathrooms, and seating on the front deck. We have taken special care to provide good quality mattresses, linen and towels to ease those achy bodies after long hours in the saddle.
Water and electricity are all generated by solar power making this a perfectly sustainable and eco-friendly camp. USB port chargers are available on your reading lights and additional charging facilities are located in the camp lounge and dining area.
